All operating parts are controlled from a central panel, with the controls clearly indicating the operating sequence. For example, blade speed is set to suit the material, and descent speed to suit the workpiece diameter.

The CTB 400 was developed for cutting aerospace alloys and hard, sophisticated materials such as titanium. However, this technologically advanced CNC bandsaw has the versatility for a wide range of applications, including common carbon steels. The CTB has a vertical frame, which is attached directly to the base using linear bearings. This construction ensures fast, accurate, vibration free movement throughout the cutting process.

Amada have taken a radical approach in the development of the plate bandsaw. In the VM Series, the materials table features multiple guides to cope with the required movement, whilst the torsion-resistant saw frame remains stationary. This gives a number of advantages: greater precision, higher cutting performance and longer service life of the blade. Thanks to the design, even changing the blade can be accomplished in a matter of minutes.
